Greetings West York Area School District Community,

With great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of West York students, I introduce you to an essential initiative for our district: the modernization of our aging athletic facilities. Under the banner of "Accessing West York: Athletic Fields Project," we are embarking on a journey to create a state-of-the-art campus that not only meets the needs of our students but also offers improved accessibility for our community members and loyal fans.

As all Bulldogs know, West York has deep roots, including a rich academic and extracurricular distinction tradition. Our athletic programs, in particular, have played a significant role in shaping the character and skills of our students while serving as the standard that defines our West York community.

However, our facilities' existing conditions pose challenges to our athletes and our community, guests, and fans. The time has come for us to reimagine and transform these spaces to better align with our vision of excellence for future generations of West York Bulldogs.

The scope of this renovation project encompasses the high school and middle school campuses, along with the athletic fields and venues at Trimmer Elementary School. A highlight of this proposal is the comprehensive renovation of our High School Football Stadium, a facility that has been a cornerstone since its inception in 1956. The revitalized stadium will feature a cutting-edge turf field, enhanced restroom facilities, improved parking arrangements, and expanded concession options. These enhancements will undoubtedly elevate the experience for fans attending games and events.

In keeping with our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, the project also includes the creation of a versatile, turf-covered multipurpose mini-stadium. This addition will provide teams with more opportunities to practice and compete, particularly in the evenings, to serve the needs of working families who will have more options for attending athletic contests and activities with greater flexibility.

Our focus remains unwaveringly on the "student experience." Whether they are athletes, performing musicians, or enthusiastic fans, we want our students to have access to facilities that inspire and support their passions. The upgraded campus will address the challenges posed by the existing facilities, making it easier for both athletes and fans to enjoy the events.
