• Meet Our Assistant Principal

    Mr. Scott Shirey joined West York Area School District in 2023. Prior to becoming a Bulldog, Mr. Shirey held administrative and instructional positions at York Suburban School District. Mr. Shirey holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from York College of Pennsylvania, a Master’s of Education in Teaching and Curriculum from Penn State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Millersville University.

    A Message from Mr. Shirey

    It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as one of the new Assistant Principals of the West York Area High School.  I am fortunate and honored to have the opportunity to help lead a school with astute students, talented staff, and a supportive school community.  

    I have been dedicated to the field of education for twenty-six years, serving in various roles including: middle and high school math teacher; assistant principal; principal; and Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction.  I am thrilled to bring my skill-set as an educator and leader to West York and to work with you as a partner in education.

    As students are the center for all educational decisions, my promise to you is that I will do my best to help provide a supportive and safe learning environment for all.  I will provide you with timely and pertinent information when able and listen to all concerns.  Don’t hesitate to reach out.
