Welcome to West York Area High School!
Our high school houses approximately 800 students in grades nine through twelve. Our classes are offered in a 65-minute block scheduling format in which students take 5 courses each semester. We offer a diverse educational program and encourage our students to choose courses that will help them succeed in the career of their choice. The majority of our graduates go on to post-secondary education or specialized training; many others enter the workforce or the military.
We provide our students with a solid foundation in core academic courses as well as offering a wide variety of electives, including arts and humanities, business education, technology education, family and consumer science, and world languages. Our academic program also includes opportunities for students to attend the local technical school or specialized centers on a part-time basis. Juniors and seniors may also choose to participate in career internships and diversified occupation programs. For those students who are looking for a non-traditional school setting, we are proud to offer online courses via our own West York Cyber Academy, supported by highly qualified West York teachers. In addition to providing our students with rigorous educational opportunities, we strive to meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of our students as well.
Students at West York Area High School also have numerous opportunities to get involved as we offer a variety of co-curricular activities and clubs. Overall, every staff member at our high school is committed to providing our students with opportunities to excel. Our goal is to embody our mission, Every Student Every Day, and ensure our students feel valued and loved while they are in our care. We work tirelessly to prepare and inspire our students to pursue their purpose beyond graduation so they can be successful in both life and the workforce.
