    A Message from Ms. Serrano

    Greetings Bulldog Families!

It is exciting to be here as a new assistant principal at West York Middle School, and I am looking forward to all that the 2024-2025 school year has in store.

I am originally from Lancaster, PA, where I graduated from Manheim Township High School in Neffsville. I attended Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri pursuing a degree in American History and my public teaching certification. I later received my Master’s in Education-Literacy. I taught English Language Arts for Ozark R6 School District for six years and then moved back to Central Pennsylvania and served as a Reading Specialist for the Harrisburg School District for seven years.

I am happy to boast I am a mother of two fabulous children who are all grown up. I boast even more about my grandchildren! I am thrilled to be back in the area with family who also attended the West York Area School District many, many years ago.

It is my desire to strive for an environment where all students feel comfortable and safe in order to learn. I thank you, parents, for being an active part of your children’s education. I am grateful to partner with you and help your children achieve their full potential!

    With Bulldog Pride,

    Ms. Julia Serrano
Assistant Principal, West York Area Middle School
