• Meet Our Assistant Principal

    Mr. Long joined the Bulldog Family in 2024. He holds Principal Certification from Shippensburg University, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Messiah College, and a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

    A Message from Mr. Long

    Greetings Bulldogs!

    I am proud to serve as your assistant principal here at West York Middle School.  Our commitment to Every Student Every Day and fostering a positive (and purposeful) learning environment for our students lie at the forefront of our efforts for this upcoming school year.

    Originally from the small town of Ebensburg, PA, in western PA, I have served as an English teacher for over fifteen years in three different states: Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.  I am an avid lover of classic literature, traveling, and I enjoy learning about our nation’s history.

    I am determined to help foster an inviting environment for students where they can grow, socialize, and augment their prior knowledge. It is exceedingly important to me that students feel respected, understand the purpose and value of the challenges they undertake, and feel part of the school community. I hope to help them in every way possible in their three years here at the Middle School.
